How it works
- Filament = grams ÷ 1,000 × price per kg
- Electricity = hours × watts ÷ 1,000 × price per kWh
- Wear = hours × cost per hour for parts and nozzles
- A margin covers failed prints
Example
A 120 g part printed in 6 hours on a 200 W printer, with $25/kg filament and $0.16/kWh, costs about $5.16 with a 10% failure margin. With a 100% markup, sell it for $10.32.
