One Rep Max (1RM) Calculator

By the CalcMundi team · Updated October 22, 2026 · Formulas checked against standard financial math

Enter the weight you lifted and how many reps you did to failure to estimate your 1RM.

Why estimate

Testing a true max takes good technique and carries risk. The formulas estimate it from a set with more reps; they work best between 2 and 10 reps.

Example

135 lb for 8 reps gives an estimated 1RM of about 169 lb.

Results are estimates for healthy adults and do not replace advice from a doctor, dietitian or trainer.

Frequently asked questions

Does it work for any exercise?

It works best for the main lifts: bench press, squat and deadlift.
